Phased Array Ultrasonic Testing (PAUT) is a nondestructive testing (NDT) method of inspecting materials for flaws using soundwaves that can be electronically steered, swept, scanned, and focused.
During the classroom training students will learn the requirements to become Qualified & Certified to perform Phased Array Ultrasonic Testing (PAUT). The course covers PAUT equipment, operation, standardization, calibration blocks, discontinuity detection and classification (Cracks, Lack of Fusion, Slag Inclusions, and Porosity). Classroom and practical application ensure that all students complete the course with the complete understanding of the basic principles of Phased Array Ultrasonic Testing.
Phased Array Ultrasonic Testing Level I (PAUT) course allows students who wish to obtain the required 40 hours of classroom training in accordance with SNT-TC-1A and CP-189. The curriculum encompasses the body of knowledge outlined in CP-105 in addition to hands on training.
